Choose 120 credits in academic year

If less than 70 credits were taken from (PS3031 - PS3034, PS3035 - PS3038, PN3313) further credits can be selected in Year 4 to a maximum of 70 credits from these modules.

A total of between 160 and 180 credits must be obtained from PS3000-PS4199, PN3300-PN4235 across 3rd and 4th Years.

For BPS Accreditation, students must take a project module in 4th Year from the following list: PS4050, PS4055, PS4056, PS4299, PS4796, PS4797.

British Psychological Society (BPS) accreditation

For recognition by the British Psychological Society, passes are required in the following modules: (PS3021 or PS3023 or PS3025), (PS3022 or PS3024 or PS4026), PS3031, PS3032, PS3033, PS3034, (PS3035 or PS3036 or PN3313), (PS3037 or PS3038) and (PS4050 or PS4055 or PS4056 or PS4299 or PS4796 or PS4797). In order to be eligible for accreditation, students must gain at least a Lower Second Class Honours degree. This recognition is required for those who wish to gain employment as professional psychologists.

Study abroad

In the case of students who spend part of the Honours programme on a recognised Study Abroad scheme, the Programme Requirements will be amended to take into account overseas courses which are approved by the relevant St Andrews School in the Learning Agreement (see www.st-andrews.ac.uk/students/study-abroad/academic ).
