Students who meet the requirements specified above, and who meet all other programme requirements, will be given automatic entry into Honours programmes.

MA Honours

The general requirements are 480 credits over a period of normally four years (and not more than five years) or part-time equivalent, of which the final two years form an approved Honours programme of 240 credits, of which 90 credits are at 4000 or 5000 level and at least a further 120 credits at 3000 and/or 4000 or 5000 levels.

BPS recognition for Psychology Degree: Passes in (PS3021 or PS3023), (PS3022 or PS3024), PS3031, PS3032, PS3033, PS3034, (PS3035 or PS3036 or PN3313), (PS3037 or PS3038), PS4040 and (PS4050 or PS4055 or PS4299 or PS4796 or PS4797 or PN4299) are required for recognition by the British Psychological Society. In order to be eligible for accreditation, students must gain at least a Lower Second Class Honours degree. This recognition is required for those who wish to gain employment as professional psychologists. Please note: due to potential timetable clashes, it may not be possible to gain accreditation for all joint degrees.

Passes in (PS3021 or PS3023), (PS3022 or PS3024), PS3031, PS3032, PS3033, PS3034, (PS3035 or PS3036 or PN3313), (PS3037 or PS3038), PS4040 and (PS4050 or PS4055 or PS4299 or PS4796 or PS4797 or PN4299) are required for recognition by the British Psychological Society.
