OR with the approval of the UG Comparative Literature Programme Director, a pass in one of CO2001 or CO2002 and 20 credits in a cognate subject.

If credits are taken in a cognate subject an average of grade 11 or better across these and the CL modules must be achieved to guarantee honours entry

Average of grade 11 or better OR With the approval of the UG Comparative Literature Programme Director, a pass in one of CO2001, CO2002 and 20 credits in cognate subject – with an average of 11 required in CO and the cognate subject.

Automatic entry to Honours requires

  • pass at grade 11 or better in at least 1 of the modules marked *
  • pass at grade 11 or better in at least 1 of the modules marked ~

Entry to Honours

Students who attain grades 11.0 or above at the first sitting in the requisite 2000-level modules and who meet all other programme requirements will be given automatic offers of entry into Honours programmes. Students permitted automatic entry to Honours will only be permitted to trail one module to a maximum of 30 sub-honours credits into Honours.

Some Schools permit qualified entry to Honours (see www.st-andrews.ac.uk/media/teaching-and-learning/policies/honsentry.pdf )

MA Honours

The general requirements are 480 credits over a period of normally four years (and not more than five years) or part-time equivalent, of which the final two years form an approved Honours programme of 240 credits, of which 90 credits are at 4000 level and at least a further 120 credits at 3000 and/or 4000 levels.

Choose 120 credits in academic year
At least 90 Level4000 credits must be obtained

MA Classic (Joint Honours) Year 3 and 4 Programme Requirements
30 credits: GK4000 - GK4989;
30 credits: LT4000 - LT4989;
30 further credits: GK4000-GK4989, LT4000 - LT4989, ((GK4999 or LT4999 or CL4794) - in Fourth Year only);
30 further credits: AA4000 - AA4989, AN4000 - AN4989, CL4000 - CL4989, GK4000 - GK4989, LT4000 - LT4989, (ID4002 and CL4990 - in Fourth Year only).

240 credits must be achieved at levels 3000 and 4000 with a minimum of 90 credits at 4000 Level.

Study abroad
